Description:

Be familiar with and follow the policies of SSCC as set forth in the handbook.
Hold pre-season meeting with student athletes to discuss philosophy of the program and inform them of responsibilities and regulations.
Supervise assistant coaches; assign their respective duties and responsibilities.
Submit forms to athletic director as required by SSCC…i.e. eligibility roster, players’ addresses, accident reports, etc.
Observe and evaluate total program and make recommendations to athletic director.
Assume responsibility for sportsmanship, conduct, and academic progress of all team members.
Attend coaches meetings and clinics for professional growth.
Issue, collect, inventory, and store equipment. Give a written copy of the inventory and condition of equipment to the athletic director each year.
Assist the athletic director in scheduling.
Submit equipment requests to athletic director for approval and disposition.
Be responsible for public relations and the publicity of the activity through the Communications Department.
Game management – get field or floor ready, assist in having support personnel such as scorers and timers assigned.
Maintains confidentiality of confidential or sensitive records and information.
Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands.

Knowledge of: SSCC operational policies and procedures; college sports rules and regulations applicable to area of responsibility; sports fundamentals, coaching and team organization and facilitation.
