Capitol Hoops, a high school basketball media company in the D.C. area, will be running what has formerly been called “The DeMatha Summer League.” The Capitol Hoops Summer League at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Md., runs from May 31 to July 3 and includes 32 high school teams.

Games are played MondayFriday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and on weekends from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Capitol Hoops is looking to hire 10 unpaid interns to help implement our media initiatives and effectively run day-to-day operations at the summer league.

We are searching for individuals who have experience filming basketball games and knowledge of video editing software to produce highlight tapes to help teams and players gain exposure.

Additionally, interns will help with social media, helping maintain the summer league website (creating and posting various writing, video, and other content), basketball operations (scoreboard, clock, shot-clock), assisting statisticians (Legit Stats), setting up and conducting player interviews, and assisting various media requests.

Interns need to work a minimum of 25 hours per week for the five weeks of summer league. Interns assisting with video need to have cameras capable of shooting video and a computer capable of editing video.
