Position Summary:
The Player Development Coach/Video Coordinator plays a critical dual role in both the development of our athletes and the effective use of video technology to enhance their growth. This position requires a deep understanding of basketball, player development strategies, and the use of video as a tool to support and track player progress. You will be responsible for implementing personalized player development plans created by the Player Development team and utilizing film to ensure that these plans are effectively executed. This role is essential in bridging the gap between player development and video coordination, ensuring that our athletes are continuously improving in alignment with their development goals.

Core Responsibilities:
Player Development:
  • Implement personalized player development programs designed by the Player Development (PD) team to enhance individual skills, basketball IQ, and overall performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the PD team and coaches to integrate development strategies into team practices and game plans.
  • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate players’ progress in key development areas, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Use film analysis to monitor and support the execution of development plans, providing players with targeted feedback and actionable insights.
  • Plan and lead individual and group training sessions, ensuring that each session aligns with the players’ development goals.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with players, offering guidance, mentorship, and support both on and off the court.
  • Foster a positive and growth-oriented culture within the team, emphasizing continuous improvement and resilience.
  • Communicate regularly with players, coaching staff, and basketball operations to provide updates on player progress and discuss any necessary adjustments to development plans.
  • Stay current on the latest trends, techniques, and advancements in player development and basketball training methods.
Video Coordination:
  • Oversee all video operations and logistics for Overtime Elite and Specific Team, ensuring that practices, games, and scouting sessions are effectively captured and analyzed.
  • Coordinate the filming of practices and games using appropriate equipment and software, with a focus on capturing footage that directly supports player development goals.
  • Edit and analyze game and practice footage to identify key areas for player improvement, working closely with the PD team to align video analysis with development plans.
  • Utilize video software, such as Sportscode, to track player performance and ensure that development goals are being met.
  • Provide coaches and players with detailed video breakdowns that highlight areas of focus within the development plans.
  • Assist in preparing game plans by providing video analysis that identifies opponents’ strengths and weaknesses, ensuring that this analysis supports the broader development objectives for each player.
  • Maintain an organized video library that allows for easy access to relevant footage for player development purposes.
  • Stay updated on the latest video technology and software, ensuring that our video operations are at the forefront of industry standards.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Exercise Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience working in a dual role of player development and video coordination, preferably within a professional basketball organization.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Sportscode, Synergy, Adobe Premiere).
  • Strong understanding of basketball strategies, player development techniques, and the role of video technology in supporting athlete growth.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with coaches, players, and other staff members.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Passionate about mentoring and developing young athletes.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
