Description:
At the University of Portland, a Video Coordinator for Men’s Basketball assists with many duties in supporting a Division I basketball program.
Duties primarily involve video operations but are not limited to video. The position also includes on-court player development and supporting student-athletes on and off the floor.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Set up and pack video equipment for practices and games.
  • Must be proficient with Sportscode and Synergy.
  • Live record and code games and practices.
  • Assist coaches with preparing scouts, ranging from play identification to preparing film for team meetings.
  • Run and operate computers during team and staff meetings.
  • Track and monitor in-game and postgame analytics.
  • Prepare individual recruiting film.
  • Create player highlight videos and other basketball-related video content.
  • Have some experience with Photoshop, graphic design, or creating graphics.
  • Assist with creating social media graphics and video content when needed.
  • Assist with player development and individual workouts with our players.
  • Report directly to the Head Coach and assistant coaches.
  • Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Head Coach.
  • Weekend work, irregular hours, travel, and physical demands are required for this position.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a college basketball environment and balance the needs of student-athletes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Some experience with Photoshop, graphic design, or similar creative software is preferred.
  • Experience creating highlight videos and social media video content is preferred.
  • High school and/or college basketball playing experience preferred.
