Jones signs multi-year extension at BU

Boston University director of athletics Drew Marrochello has announced that three head coaches, including men’s basketball’s Joe Jones, have all recently signed multi-year contract extensions.

“These three coaches are great examples of the type of leaders we strive to have in the BU Athletics family,” said Marrochello. “They are committed to providing a first-class experience for our student-athletes while guiding them to their goals and also caring for their overall well-being. We look forward to their continued success within their programs and we’re proud to call them Terriers.”

Jones has accumulated 194 wins over 11-plus seasons at helm of the BU men’s basketball program while leading the Terriers to five postseason berths, including a CBI appearance last season. He guided BU to the 2020 Patriot League tournament title and the 2013-14 regular season crown and his teams have finished in the top five of the conference standings nine times. Jones’ win total is second in program history.

Jones’ Terriers are currently 7-5 and travel to UMass Lowell this afternoon.
