Central Florida head coach Donnie Jones has been suspended without pay for the first three conference games of the season. The suspension is a result of alleged recruiting violations within the men’s basketball program. Jones was also issued a letter of reprimand which stated that he "failed to maintain a culture of compliance." Also, AD Keith Tribble has resigned amidst these allegations and similar issues with the UCF football program (assistant football coach Davis Kelly has also resigned).

Jones will miss conference games against Tulane on January 4th, at East Carolina on January 7th, and home game against Houston on January 11th.
