Some things I’ve heard from the Junior Colleges…

• The search to replace assistant coach Josh Sash at State Fair CC (MO) is on.  The three names that I’ve heard are:  Adam Short (assistant coach Missouri West Plains), Evan Lavery (assistant coach Rock Valley College), and Matt Sherman (assistant coach William Jewell College).  Sash became an assistant at Indian Hills (IA) earlier this month.

• I can confirm that Mike Spicer has been named as the head coach at Grand Rapids CC (MI).  He had been a HS coach in the area for a number of years.  Spicer will replace David Selmon who served as the interim head coach at the school last season.

• I can also confirm that Elijah Starzl has joined that staff at Southwestern CC (IA).  He had spent the past seven seasons as an assistant at Minnesota Morris.

• I have heard that John Wood CC (IL) assistant coach Brad Witherspoon will become an assistant at Kilgore College (TX).  He had been on the JWCC staff for the past three seasons.  Witherspoon played at Kansas, and was a part of their 2008 National Championship squad.
