I can confirm that Garden City CC (KS) will hire Rusty Elmore as their new head men’s basketball coach. Elmore has been the head coach at Colby CC (KS) since 2019.

During his three seasons at Colby, Elmore put together a 49-30 record, with his best seasons coming in 2019-20, when his Trojans went 27-5. That year, his squad received the first national tournament bid in program history, and Elmore was named as the Jayhawk West Coach of the Year.

In addition to his time as a head coach, Elmore has also served as an assistant at Moberly Area CC, Vincennes University, Lindsey Wilson College, Union College, and Kentucky Wesleyan University.

Elmore will replace Bill Morosco, who took over at Indian River earlier this month.

An official announcement could be made by the end of the week.
