I have heard from multiple sources that former NBA player Cedric Henderson is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at Southwest Tennessee Community College.
Hired in the fall of 2018, Henderson led the Saluqis to a 15-10 record last season – the team is currently 3-7 this year.
Henderson was a McDonald’s All-American coming out of East High School in Memphis. He then went on to star at the University of Memphis (1,697 points), and was a second round pick by the Cavs in the 1997 NBA draft. Henderson was a member of the NBA’s second team All-Rookie Team in 1998. He wrapped up his NBA career with the Warriors before heading overseas.
He had been coaching high school basketball in the Memphis area before being hired at Southwest Tennessee last fall.
There is no word on who the interim head coach will be. More on this one when it becomes official.
