Mt. Hood Community College has promoted assistant coach Hany Daoud to head coach of the men’s basketball program following the departure of Coach Alex Syum.

Daoud, who joined MHCC in 2022, brings extensive coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, and international levels, including work with Egypt’s Zamalek club and the Portland Trail Blazers youth program. A Portland State University graduate and Pullman, Washington native, Daoud has also led Rose City Basketball, helping numerous athletes reach the college level.

He steps into his new role immediately as the Saints prepare for the 2025–26 season.
