Kelly Named Head Coach at Dallas Christian College

Todd Kelly has been named Dallas Christian College’s Head Men’s Basketball Coach. 
 
“I’m extremely thrilled and honored to be named the head coach at Dallas Christian College. I know it will be a challenge but not one that the Lord hasn’t prepared me for. I look forward to leading these young men both on the court and off, through their athletic and spiritual journeys while here at DCC”, says Kelly.
 
Kelly began his coaching career in 2004. Prior to DCC, he coached at Illinois Institute of Technology, Keystone College, and North Central College, with a high school coaching stop at Providence St. Mel High School.
 
Kelly will assume his new role July 1, 2022, and succeeds the late Dwight Coleman.

Todd Kelly Bio:

 Todd Kelly comes to DCC with nearly 20 years of experience as a Head Coach at both the high school and collegiate level. Coach Kelly was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and most recently served as the Head Coach at Illinois Institute of Technology. While there, Coach Kelly revived a struggling program and in just three seasons guided the program to its first 20-win season in over 30 years. This momentum led the team to the 2018 USCAA championship as a finalist, earning him both the USCAA and AD3I Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019. 
 
Coach Kelly is known for his ability to build programs through strong recruitment and player development. Based on his Christian education background, Coach Kelly understands the value of using basketball as a tool to spiritually develop, mentor, and build relationship with his players.
 
Prior to Illinois Tech, Coach Kelly was the Associate Head Coach at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. At North Central, Coach Kelly helped lead the program to back-to-back NCAA Division III Sweet 16 appearances and the 2013 Final Four. While serving as the Head Coach at Providence St. Mel High School (2006-2009), Coach Kelly led the team to the 2009 Preparatory Conference Title and was named the 2009 Conference Coach of the Year.
 
Kelly earned his bachelor’s degree from Millikin University, while competing as a student athlete. He earned his master’s degree in Sports Management from Western Illinois University.
