lllinois College has named Jonathan Kreidler its new assistant men’s basketball coach, it was announced today by IC Head Coach Steve Schweer.
“We are excited to welcome Jon to Jacksonville and to Illinois College. Our goal is always to surround our program with the best people we can find, and we believe we have done that with Coach Kreidler,” Schweer said. “Jon is one of those guys that you see in every gym you show up to, and we place a premium on that type of work ethic. Coach Kreidler immediately connected with our players throughout the interview process, and his experience working on staff at Carroll and in various player development roles will all translate well to his position on our staff here at Illinois College.”
Kreidler comes to the Hilltop after spending the past three years as a member of the Carroll University coaching staff. Kreidler began his tenure with the Pioneers as the Graduate Assistant, handling duties such as coaching the junior varsity team and serving as the assistant recruiting coordinator. He was promoted to assistant coach before last season and took on the role of Director of Basketball Operations. In his new position, his duties included designing and leading player development workout programs, coordinating all basketball-related analytics, and overseeing the program’s managerial staff.
Kreidler played his freshman season for Loras College before injuries forced him to take on a student assistant role for the Duhawks, where his duties included assisting with scouting and playbook construction, running individual player and group development sessions, and overseeing daily basketball operations such as equipment and travel.
During his undergraduate years, Kreidler also served as an NBA Offseason Workout Assistant at the Zach Boster Player Development agency, a Player Development Director and Coach for the Chapman Basketball Academy, and an assistant coach for the All In Athletics AAU program.
A native of Mt. Prospect, Ill., Kreidler owns a bachelor’s degree in finance from Loras and an MBA from Carroll.
