Minnesota West Community & Technical College has announced that Kris Babler has been hired as the new head Men’s Bluejay Basketball Coach.
Most recently on the court, Babler was head coach for the 2014-15 season at Rainy River Community College, leading a 17-win season which was a 14-win improvement. Babler also increased team GPA a full letter grade and 3 of 12 of his players went to Division I or II programs. Prior to that Babler was Head basketball coach at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, building the school’s first JV team and having a record number of participants in the program. Babler’s has 10+ years experience on the basketball court at the high school and college level.
Most recently, Babler has served as an Army Captain for the United States Army overseas.
Coach Babler has a B.A in English Literature & Coaching Minor from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Masters of Education in Applied Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota.
