Lane added to SLC MBB staff

Sarah Lawrence College men’s basketball head coach, Chris Ehmer, announced the addition of Robert Lane to his coaching staff on Wednesday afternoon. Lane will serve as the second assistant, joining a staff that includes Sean Clores and Marek Fuchs.

“I’m very excited to have Rob join our staff,” said Ehmer. “He brings a wealth of experience from his time at the University of Pittsburgh that will surely benefit our student-athletes.”

Lane comes to the Gryphons following a two-year stint as a graduate assistant for the University of Pittsburgh men’s basketball team. With the Panthers, Lane assisted in many areas of the team, including video and analytics, skill development, recruiting, and operations. He edited scouting reports and captured game and practice video. He participated in drills aimed at improving offensive moves and defensive decision making, working with current NBA players Cameron Johnson and Justin Champagnie.

Lane played a hand in organizing recruiting efforts, greeting prospective recruits on campus and completing the administrative duties necessary to allow visits. From an operations standpoint, Lane assisted with travel coordination and scheduling.

Prior to his graduate assistantship, he was a student manager for Pitt men’s basketball, performing similar duties. Lane was the head manager in charge of all filming and editing of games and practices.

Lane graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in communications and a minor in sociology.

“I’m also happy to announce that Sean Clores and Marek Fuchs will be returning for the upcoming season,” said Ehmer. “We have a great staff in place and I can’t wait to get to work with our coaches and student-athletes.”

Clores is entering his second year as Ehmer’s first assistant. The former CCNY head coach will get his first full season on the sideline with the Gryphons.

Fuchs will be returning for his fourth year as a volunteer assistant.
