Loyola Marymount set to host FREE basketball coaches clinic (July 13-16)

The basketball staff at Loyola Marymount University has announced a Virtual Coaches Clinic hosted by the four coaches of LMU men’s basketball.

The clinic will be divided into four sessions, on consecutive days in July, each led by a different LMU coach.

The purpose of this clinic is to help coaches at all levels be the very best in their current jobs while teaching valuable lessons that will allow for the growth and advancement in the game of basketball.

On July 13th, David Carter will be hosting “Journey to LMU”. This seminar will focus on the motivation, determination, and passion of basketball coaches, what it means to be a mentor and leader to athletes, and how to make the most of your opportunities as a coach.

On July 14th, Greg Youncofski will be hosting “Preparing to Recruit in a Non-Recruiting Position & Relationship Building”. This session will focus on preparing to recruit and the importance of relationship building.

On July 15th, Allen Edwards will be hosting “Run Your Own Race”. This will be an inside look at shaping the lives of young people through the game of basketball.

Head Coach Stan Johnson will close out the week on July 16th with his presentation, “Make the Big Time Where You Are”. Coach Johnson will address staying present in where you are at while branding and investing in yourself in order to impact your current organization while increasing your advancement opportunities.

Current and aspiring coaches at all levels are encouraged to sign up to the free Coaches Clinic through the registration HERE.

All sessions will begin on Zoom at 12 p.m., and are expected to last an hour each.

Due to NCAA recruiting restrictions, men’s basketball prospects (defined as started classes for 7th grade and up) may not join the event.
