Martin joins Friends U. Men’s Basketball Staff

Alex Martin has been chosen as the new Friends University men’s basketball graduate assistant intern coach, head coach Dale Faber has announced.

Martin joins the Falcons after prepping at Maize South High School and competing collegiately at NCAA D-II program Missouri Western University and Cloud County Community College.

“We are excited about the opportunity to have Alex join us,” Faber said. “We set some priorities in hiring and Alex fulfills these. He played for three well-thought of coaches throughout his college career and we wanted to bring in fresh ideas to our program, Coach (Anthony) White and myself.”

For the upcoming season, the Falcons are set to welcome back three starters from a team that finished 17-13 overall and 15-9 in the KCAC during the 2019-20 campaign.

“We were looking for work ethic, someone who could see the big picture, new and thoughtful ideas not only in basketball, but in all areas off the court as well, along with basketball connections that reach a little further than the Wichita area,” Faber said.
