McLaughlin tabbed as Assistant Basketball Coach at Skagit Valley College

The Skagit Valley College Cardinals have announced the hiring of Mark McLaughlin as the new Men’s Basketball assistant coach. 


Mark played for Cardinal Head Coach Carl Howell at Tacoma Community College in 2012 leading the Titans to the 2012 NWAC championship will earning NWAC West Region MVP honors and leading the country in scoring at 28ppg. Mark was a 2 time All American, All GNAC & All Region Selection  at Central Washington University where he led the country in scoring at 27ppg. 
 
Mark recently was an assistant coach at both University of Hawaii – Hilo & Shoreline Community College . 
 
“Mark is a tremendous addition to our program here at Skagit! It was really important to me to bring in one of my former guys who understands our culture & expectations.  He brings a great understanding of the game, is great in individual workouts and is a outstanding recruiter. Mark Is extremely loyal and knows  my system having played for me. I truly believe Mark will be a very successful head coach down the road”, said Coach Carl Howell
