Medaille College Men’s Basketball Coach announced the appointment of Marques McKinney as Assistant Coach on Thursday afternoon.
McKinney hails from Fishkill, New York and is entering his first season as an Assistant Coach for ther Men’s Basketball program. McKinney graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Dutchess Community College in 2015, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from SUNY Empire State College in 2016.
Marques comes to Medaille after one season as an Assistant Coach at Cazenovia College helping the Wildcats win (11) games in 2015-16, and finish with a (9-8) record in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
McKinney’s coaching career started in 2007 when he was hired as an Assistant Coach at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, New York and he followed that up with a two year stint as a Boy’s AAU Head Basketball Coach and Gym Director in Wilmington, North Carolina.
In addition, McKinney has worked a number of summer basketball camps including Marist and Vassar College camps.
