Langston Hall, one of the most decorated Mercer men’s basketball players in the history of the program, is joining his alma mater as an assistant coach on the men’s basketball staff for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Hall’s No. 21 jersey hangs in the rafters of Hawkins Arena after having his number retired in 2019. Hall was a three-time All-Atlantic Sun (ASUN) selection and is Mercer’s career leader in assists (633) and three-point goals made (256) and is second in steals (177). He is the eighth leading scorer in school history with 1,579 career points.
A 6-4 guard from Atlanta, Georgia, Hall was a four-year starter for the Bears from 2010-2014, starting 134 of the 138 games he appeared in. His senior season in 2013-14, he led the Bears to a 27-9 record that included Atlantic Sun Conference regular season and tournament championships and an NCAA Tournament berth that saw Mercer knock off No. 6 ranked Duke.
As a senior, Hall averaged a team-best 14.6 points per game, along with 5.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds per outing. He was named the 2014 ASUN Player of the Year and was chosen to the NABC Division I All-District 3 first team. Additionally, Hall was presented the Lou Henson Mid-Major Player of the Year Award.
After his playing career at Mercer, Hall played 11 years of professional basketball in Europe. He played professionally in Italy, Germany, Greece, Serbia, and Turkey. Some of Hall’s accomplishments while playing overseas included being named to the Greek All-Star Game in 2018, helping guide Crvena Zvezda to the Serbian league title in 2021, and winning the FIBA Europe Cup championship in 2022 while playing in Turkey with Bahçeşehir Koleji.
