It looks like Miami will name a new head coach in the next few days. Acting AD Tony Hernandez and search committee chairman Paul DiMare have recently met with Parker Executive search to narrow the names down. The coaches currently in the mix are:

University of Alabama-Birmingham head coach Mike Davis

Murray State head coach Billy Kennedy

Harvard head coach Tommy Amaker

Richmond head coach Chris Mooney

Auburn head coach Tony Barbee

Former Oklahoma head coach Jeff Capel

Former Arkansas head coach John Pelphrey

Also, indications are that Kansas State head coach Frank Martin has not been interviewed. It sounds like Miami can not afford him. Also, FAU head coach Mike Jarvis, Alabama head coach Anthony Grant, and Central Florida head coach Donnie Jones have also been mentioned, but are not believed to be in the top seven.

This could be done by Monday or Tuesday.
