MILESTONE: Houston Baptist’s Cottrell wins 500th game of his career

Houston Baptist University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ron Cottrell earned career victory number 500 earlier this week as his Huskies defeated Champion Christian 84-67.

Cottrell is the fifth-longest tenured coach among active NCAA Division I head men’s basketball coaches, and is now in his 31st season leading the Huskies. He has a career record of 500-456. In addition to his coaching duties, Cottrell has assumed the role of associate director of athletics after spending 15 years as director of athletics at HBU.
