Murray State head men’s basketball coach Ryan Miller announced hiring of Mardracus Wade as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season.
“I’m super excited to join Coach Miller at Murray State,” said Wade. “Being able to join such a prestigious program with the rich history Murray has in place is an incredible honor. I cannot wait to recruit and develop the next generation of players that come through here. I’m ready to get to work and chase a Missouri Valley Conference championship.”
Wade comes to the Racers with six years of coaching experience in the collegiate ranks with stops at Memphis, South Carolina State, and Alabama State. In the 2024-25 season, Wade helped lead Alabama State to a SWAC tournament title and a berth to the NCAA tournament.
Prior to working in the college game, Wade worked alongside newly named General Manager, Ernie Kuyper with Hoop City Basketball Club in Memphis, Tennessee.
“I’ve followed Coach Wade’s career for years, and bringing him onto our staff is a fantastic addition for Murray State basketball,” said Miller. “His experience, notably helping guide Alabama State to the NCAA Tournament, coupled with his strong recruiting ties in the Memphis area and dedication to player development, perfectly aligns with our vision for success in the Missouri Valley Conference.”
Wade played four years at guard at the University of Arkansas and earned his degree in Criminal Justice. While at Arkansas, he finished in the top eight in school history in steals and in the top 20 in made three-pointers. He played three seasons in the NBA G- League with the Iowa Wolves and the Greensboro Swarm and played internationally in Germany, Taiwan, and China.
