Multiple sources have told me this morning that South Dakota interim head coach Joey James will not be retained. HOT RUMOR: Buzz Peterson out at UNC-Wilmington

Multiple sources have said that Buzz Peterson is out as the head coach at UNC-Wilmington. Peterson, who has been at UNCW since 2010, went 9-23 this season. I’ve also heard he will continue to get paid for the remaining years on his contract. More on this when it becomes official.

Just confirming our rumor from earlier this morning. Joey James has officially been released as the interim head coach at South Dakota. The University of South Dakota will conduct a national search for its head men’s basketball coaching position. The process will begin immediately. USD has contracted with Fogler Consulting to assist with the search.
