O’Donnell joins Westminster (UT) Men’s Basketball Staff

Westminster College (UT) Men’s Basketball Head Coach Norm Parrish announced the addition of Michael O’Donnell as an assistant coach. O’Donnell brings many years of experience coaching at the AAU, high school and junior collegiate levels.
 
O’Donnell began coaching as a junior varsity coach at Roseville Area Senior High School in St. Paul, Minn. He moved to Minnesota prep powerhouse, Minnehaha Academy, as an assistant coach under Coach Lance Johnson.
 
A Salt Lake City native, O’Donnell returned home as an assistant coach at his alma mater, West High School, to coach alongside Bob Lyman. After four years at West, O’Donnell took the position as associate head coach at Summit Academy High School in Salt Lake City.  He joined Todd Phillips’ staff for the 2018-19 season at Salt Lake Community College after one season at Summit Academy.
 
O’Donnell has coached at the AAU level for programs such as Grassroots Minnesota UA, Salt Lake Rebels, and Utah Basketball Club.
 
O’Donnell prepped at West High School and played for Coach Jeff Kidder at Dixie Jr. College (1996-1997). He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Writing & Rhetoric Studies from the University of Utah in 2020.
 
O’Donnell and his wife Alyson live in Murray City, Utah.
