HD Intelligence Co-Founders Colton Houston & Matt Dover have announced the addition of Andy Schmitt as a sales consultant for men’s basketball. HDI continues to make waves within the college basketball world as an analytics company that assists teams with scheduling, opponent scouting, self-scouting, and recruiting.

Schmitt, who most recently served as the Director of Basketball Operations for the University of North Texas men’s basketball program, will have significant responsibilities in the areas of business development and customer service.

“I’m extremely excited to announce Andy as our newest team member,” Houston said. “Andy has a resume that speaks for itself and is incredibly dedicated and hard working. He has built tremendous relationships and credibility everywhere he has been and has made an impact at every stop in his young career.”

Schmitt joins HDI after successfully managing and expanding his operations role for both the University of North Texas (2018-20) and New Mexico State University (2017-18), where he had a major hand in those programs’ scheduling, team travel, opponent scouting, and summer camp efforts.

“I’m fired up and thankful for the opportunity to come alongside Colton and Matt and be able to grow what is already established as a well-oiled machine and a proven concept,” Schmitt said. “I’m eager to get to work with our team to continue to make an impact in the rapidly growing areas of performance analytics and schedule optimization.”

Schmitt spent his undergraduate years as a manager at the University of Illinois before going on to serve as a graduate assistant for Austin Peay State University. From there, Schmitt served an assistant coach at Eastern Arizona College and Texas A&M University – Commerce before moving back to the Division I ranks with New Mexico State and then North Texas. In his coaching career, Schmitt has been to four NCAA tournaments in ten seasons, including conference championships in both the WAC and Conference USA.
