I can confirm that Gregg Gottlieb is no longer on the men’s basketball staff at Oregon State. It sounds like he was part of a cost cutting purge that has slashed a reported 23 positions within the Beavers athletics department.

Gottlieb had been on Wayne Tinkle’s staff for the past six seasons, serving the first five as an assistant, and last season as the special assistant to the head coach. Gottlieb had been in the Pac-12 for the last thirteen seasons, as he was an assistant at Cal for seven seasons before moving up the coast to Corvallis in 2014.

The veteran coach has also had stints as an assistant at San Diego State, Sacramento State, and Cal Poly.

No word yet on other OSU staffers who may have been laid off.
