According to a Jon Rothstein report, Arkansas State finalizing deal with Alabama assistant Ryan Pannone to become the Red Wolves new head basketball coach. He would replace Bryan Hodgson (another former Alabama assistant), who became the head coach at South Florida earlier this week.
Pannone joined the Crimson Tide back in 2023 after serving as an assistant with the New Orleans Pelicans and previously coaching their G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron. With extensive experience at various levels globally, he has coached professionally in multiple countries and led Hapoel Jerusalem to an Israeli championship and Euro Cup semifinals. Pannone also has coaching experience in junior college, AAU, and high school basketball.
