George Mason’s Kim English is expected to sign a six-year deal to become the next head men’s basketball coach at Providence, according to Jeff Borzello.
English has been the head coach at George Mason for the past two seasons, where he went 34-29 (.540). Prior to his time with the Patriots, he worked as an assistant to former Providence head coach Rick Barnes at Tennessee. He has also worked as an assistant at Colorado and Tulsa.
A former standout at Missouri, English was a second round pick of the Detroit Pistons in the 2012 draft. He played overseas until 2015 when he began his coaching career.
English will replace Ed Cooley who became the head coach at Georgetown earlier this week.
