REPORT: Fly out at FGCU after 21-win season

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

I can confirm multiple reports, including one from Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, that Michael Fly has been released as the head coach at Florida Gulf Coast.

This past season was Fly’s best in his four years at FGCU. He led the Eagles to a 21-11 (10-6 ASUN) record, after averaging 11.3 wins over his first three campaigns.

Fly spent seven years as an assistant at FGCU before taking over after Joe Dooley departed after the 2018 season.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
