Georgia Southern is expected to tab Texas Tech assistant Brian Burg as their next head basketball coach according to a Tweet by Jon Rothstein. He would replace Mark Byington who became the head coach at James Madison earlier this month.

Burg has been on Chris Beard’s staff at Texas Tech for the past three seasons – he also worked for Beard at Little Rock.

According to the report, an official announcement is expected tomorrow. More on this when it becomes official.
