According to a report from Jon Rothstein, Georgia State’s Ron Hunter is finalizing a deal to become the next head basketball coach at Tulane.
Following last night’s loss to Houston in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Hunter told the press when asked about the Tulane rumors that he is “going to take 48 hours to decide my future.”
Hunter has been at GSU for the past eight seasons (171-95) – his team went 24-10 this season and captured the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
Before being hired at Georgia State in 2011, Hunter had spent seventeen seasons as the head coach at IUPUI where he compiled a 274-219 record.
