I can confirm a Jon Rothstein report that Jonas Hayes is out as the head basketball coach at Georgia State.
Hayes, a former standout at Georgia, had been the head coach at GSU for the past four seasons where he went 48-79 (.378). His team went 10-22 (7-11 Sun Belt) this past year.
Prior to his time at Georgia State, Hayes served as an assistant at Xavier and also spent four games as the Musketeers interim head coach. In those four games, he went 4-0 and captured the 2022 NIT title.
More on this move once it becomes offcial.
