According to a report today from the Commercial Appeal, the University of Memphis men’s basketball program and head coach Penny Hardaway have been charged with seven violations, including four level I and two level II infractions.
According to the report, the “notice of allegations outlines seven separate violations in total, which are reported to have occurred between May 2019 and February 2021. It includes violations of NCAA clauses related to lack of institutional control, head coach responsibility and failure to monitor.”

According to the notice of allegations, Head Coach Penny Hardaway “failed to demonstrate that he promoted an atmosphere of compliance within the men’s basketball program.”
