According to a report this morning by NewsChannel 5, UNC Asheville’s Nick McDevitt will become the next head coach at Middle Tennessee State. HoopDirt.com mentioned McDevitt as one of three candidates at MTSU in yesterday’s Daily Dirt. He replaced Kermit Davis who became the head coach at Ole Miss earlier this month.
McDevitt has been the head coach at UNCA since 2013 where he has compiled 98-66 record. This past season, he led the Bulldogs to a 21-13 (13-5) record, and an NIT appearance. McDevitt was named as the 2017 Big South Coach of the year, and has guided his squad to three straight 21+ win seasons.
An official announcement is expected as early as today.
