According to multiple reports, including one from Jeff Goodman, UNLV is expected to hire Josh Pastner as their new head basketball coach.
The former head coach at Georgia Tech and Memphis, Pastner has spent the past two seasons as a TV studio analyst. Pastner, who led Georgia Tech from 2016 to 2023, had an up-and-down tenure, highlighted by an ACC Tournament title in 2021 and an NIT runner-up finish in his first season. However, after key player departures, the program struggled, leading to his dismissal. Before Georgia Tech, Pastner had a successful seven-year run at Memphis, compiling a 167-73 record and making four NCAA Tournament appearances.
