According to a report from the Commercial Appeal, Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway will hire Vanderbilt’s Faragi Phillips as an assistant coach.

Phillips had been on Jerry Stackhouse’s staff at Vandy for the past three seasons – two as an assistant and one as the Director of Player Personnel. Before his time in Nashville, Phillips had a ton of success at the prep level in Memphis, serving as the head coach at Mitchell HS (2011-15 – 108-29 record) and Whitehaven HS (2015-19 – 91-30).
