According to a Los Angeles Times report, Cal State Northridge head coach Reggie Theus, and Athletic Director Brandon Martin were involved in a physical altercation shortly before the school dismissed both of them. Also, according to CSUN’s police department, Theus has filed a complaint of battery against Martin.
“This case is under investigation by CSUN Police and we are not releasing any further details at this time,” Chief Anne Glavin said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times.
Theus had been the head coach at CSUN for the past five seasons. His squad went 6-24 (3-13) this past year and he wraps-up his tenure with a 44-107 record at the school (includes 9 vacated wins). He also served as the head coach of the Sacramento Kings (2007-09), and the head coach at New Mexico State (2005-07).
Martin had been the AD at Northridge since 2013. He is a former basketball player at USC who also held senior level athletics positions at both Oklahoma and his alma mater.
