According to a report by ESPN’s Marc Spears, former NBA All-Star Reggie Theus will be named as the head men’s basketball coach and AD at Bethune-Cookman University.
Theus has been a head coach at the D1 level in the past, serving at New Mexico State from 2005-07 (41-23 .641), and Cal State Northridge from 2013-18 (53-105 .335). Theus also worked as the head coach of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings in 2007-08, and the G-League’s Los Angeles D-Fenders in 2012-13.
The two-time NBA All-star was the 9th overall pick in the 1978 draft by the Chicago Bulls. He is also a member of the UNLV Hall of Fame, where his #23 was retired back in 1997.
Theus will replace Ryan Ridder who became the head coach at Tennessee-Martin back on March 30th.
More on this when it becomes official.
