According to multiple reports, including one from Jeff Goodman, Texas A&M Corpus Christi head coach Steve Lutz is headed to Western Kentucky. He would replace Rick Stansbury, who resigned back on 3/11.
Lutz has been at Corpus Christi for the past two seasons where he put together a 47-23 (.671) record. After winning the Southland this season, the Islanders beat SEMO in the NCAA First Four, before falling to Alabama in the first round this past Thursday. This was the second straight Southland title for Lutz and his squad.
Before coming to Corpus Christi, Lutz had spent four seasons as an assistant at Purdue. He has also been at assistant at Creighton, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, and Incarnate Word.
