REPORT: Swarthmore’s Kosmalski taking D1 assistant job

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

According to a Jeff Goodman Field of 68 report, Swarthmore College head coach Landry Kosmalski will become the associate head coach on John Andrzejek’s new staff at Campbell.

This marks second small college head coach making the move to the D1 ranks over the past few days. As first reported by HoopDirt yesterday, Loyola (NO) head coach Donald Reyes is headed to Louisiana as an assistant.

Kosmalski went 241-102 (.703) in his 12 seasons at Swarthmore. Over the last eight seasons, Swarthmore has the fifth highest winning percentage in the country across all divisions (DI, DII, and DIII), advancing to seven straight NCAA tournaments during that stretch.

Prior to his time at Swarthmore, Kosmalski served as an assistant at his alma mater Davidson from 2004-12. As a player at Davidson, Kosmalski ranks 4th all-time at Davidson in rebounding (877), 17th in scoring (1,438), and 12th in steals (121). He was inducted into the Davidson Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.

More on this move once it becomes official.
