Sean Kett, who wrapped up his playing career in the spring of 2015, has joined the Saint Vincent men’s basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant.

Kett, a native of Miami, FL, graduated with a degree in business management after a stellar four-year career in green and gold.

In 2014-15, he was named to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference First Team, tallying 13.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.  He scored a career-high 28 points against Thiel, but saved perhaps his best individual game for the NCAA Tournament, when he recorded 26 points against a tough Bates College team.

Kett appeared in 26 games off the bench as a freshman in 2011-12, then worked his way into the starting lineup as a sophomore the next year, and recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament game against Ohio Wesleyan.  From that point on, he was a team leader, starting every game and racking up plenty of minutes on the court.

He ended his career with 971 points and 668 rebounds, along with a free throw percentage of .800.

“Sean Kett probably put in more hours on the court during his four years than any other player I’ve ever coached,” said head coach DP Harris.  “His work ethic is tremendous, and I’m expecting him to bring that same work ethic to the court as a coach.  I think our younger players will really benefit from having him here.”

The Bearcats begin their 2015-16 season on November 21-22 in the Frostburg State Invitational.  The team’s first home game will be November 24 against Marietta College.
