The New England College men’s basketball team is excited to announce the addition of Coach Shannon Sciria to its staff.

Shannon is no stranger to NEC, as he is currently in his second year on the Henniker campus as a member of the Office of Career and Life Planning.

Coach Sciria has also earned a reputation as a passionate and tireless college basketball coach.  “We are pumped to have Coach Sciria joining our program at NEC,” said Coach Charlie Mason. “Shannon’s enthusiasm and work ethic are clear to everyone who knows him. We believe Coach Sciria’s experiences and strengths will contribute in our efforts to grow as a team.”

Coach Sciria most recently was an assistant at Colby Sawyer College for the past three years.  In that time, Sciria’s responsibilities included assisting in the following areas: recruiting, assisting in day-to-day practices, individual skill development, scouting, film exchange, and overseeing the team’s social media platforms.

Prior to Colby Sawyer, Sciria served as an assistant coach at Rivier University, Southern New Hampshire University, and St Anselm’s College. Coach Sciria also served as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Pembroke Academy (2015-17).

Shannon Sciria earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in sociology at Colby Sawyer.  He was also a student-athlete for the CSC’s men’s basketball team.  Sciria went on to earn his master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University.

Shannon currently resides in Hooksett, NH with his wife, Amanda, and their son, Luca.
