I have heard from two great sources that SMU head coach Tim Jankovich has hired Yaphett King as an assistant coach.

King had spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech, and served as an assistant at Texas A&M–Corpus Christi for four years before that. He was also the head coach at Redlands Community College where he won 72 games during his four seasons on the sidelines.

King will replace Shawn Forrest who had been on Jankovich’s staff for the past three years.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
