St. Peter’s University has released the following statement about the suspension of head basketball coach Shaheen Holloway:
Saint Peter’s University and head men’s basketball coach Shaheen Holloway are committed to a culture of integrity and rules compliance. Coach Holloway has been working collaboratively with the NCAA enforcement staff to address an infraction that occurred prior to his employment at Saint Peter’s. Coach Holloway has been fully cooperative with the NCAA enforcement staff. As part of this process, coach Holloway will not coach the men’s basketball program’s November 7 exhibition contest and the November 13, 16 and 20 games. This matter is still being resolved, and therefore, pursuant to NCAA policy, neither the university nor coach Holloway will comment further.
The suspension surrounds the 2017 transfer of Taurean Thompson from Syracuse when Holloway was an assistant at Seton Hall. Current Seton Hall head coach Kevin Willard was suspended for two games late last month.
