Duquesne University head men’s basketball coach Jim Ferry announced that David Steckel has been added to the staff as a graduate assistant.

Steckel, who served as a student manager for the past four seasons, will assist in all aspects of the program including film and scouting breakdown, analytics, player development, academics, community service, travel and operations.

The Allison Park, Pa. native served as DU’s head manager this past season where he was responsible for coordinating a staff of seven.

“We are really pleased to have David remain as part of our program,” said Ferry. “He has worked tirelessly for us since day one and I know he’ll continue to do a fantastic job for us.”

Steckel attended Hampton High School prior to enrolling at Duquesne. He completed his undergraduate degree in sports marketing/supply chain management this spring.

Steckel will be pursuing his master’s degree in sports leadership.
