Stetson Assistant MBB Coach Suhr Resigns

Stetson men’s basketball assistant coach Brendan Suhr has resigned to become the Chief Global Officer of Strategic Relationships for MindVue.

Founded in 2015, MindVue optimizes performance and improves mental wellness through a learning experience platform that measures and builds mindset skills.

“I am so excited for Brendan and this opportunity he has with MindVue to impact the lives of people on a global scale,” Stetson head coach Donnie Jones said.  “He’s been instrumental in my own personal and professional growth over the last 20 years as a mentor, confidant and most importantly one of my closest friends. I have no doubt he will do the same for MindVue – they are getting a game changer! I thank him for joining me here at Stetson, and helping us lay the foundation as we set out to rebuild the program. Although he won’t be with us on the court each day, he will always be a part of the Hatter family.”

Prior to his time at Stetson, Suhr was an executive and coach in the NBA for over three decades and has also coached at the collegiate level for 15 seasons. He has coached with Hall of Famers Hubie Brown, Chuck Daly, Lenny Wilkins, and Isiah Thomas, and won back-to-back NBA championships with the Detroit Pistons in 1989 and 1990. He was also a member of the coaching staff for the 1992 Olympic gold medal winning “Dream Team” and coached two NBA All-Star games.

“We are incredibly excited to have Brendan Suhr join the MindVue team,”, said Dr. Brian Davidson, the founder and president of MindVue.  “As a remarkable developer of human potential with a personal mission to positively impact millions of lives across the world, Brendan will be instrumental in helping us achieve our vision.  Throughout Brendan’s illustrious career, he’s displayed an uncanny ability to foster positive relationships, build and lead great teams, and achieve the highest levels of success.  We are extremely fortunate to have Brendan, a high-caliber leader with incredible experience and a proven history of performance, join our team to help many individuals, teams, and organizations in the years ahead.”

In addition to his accomplished career as a basketball coach, Suhr is the founder of Off the Court Inc. and Coaching U Ventures, where he has been dedicated to growing the game of basketball by hosting clinics and podcasts to educate and develop coaches in over 140 countries around the world.
