Sunday Night Dirt…

Just because it’s Sunday doesn’t mean the dirt stops…

• Scott Spinelli to Boston College is a done deal. Sounds like the former Maryland assistant will be getting a raise from the $200K that he was making with the Terps.

• A name making the rounds as a possible replacement for Spinelli is Indiana assistant Kenny Johnson. The Maryland native joined the IU staff in 2012 and was previously an assistant at Towson. He is also a Maryland grad and the former VP of Team Takeover (MD) AAU.

• I have heard from a good source that former South Florida assistant Steve Roccaforte and Marquette assistant Isaac Chew will join Buzz William’s staff at Virginia Tech. Roccaforte is the former head coach at Lamar who has also been an assistant at Memphis, Wyoming, and Tulane. Chew had been with Williams at Marquette for the past two seasons. He was also at Missouri, Illinois, Murray State.

• There is a lot of chatter out there about the vacancy at Kentucky created when Orlando Antigua departed to become the head coach at South Florida. The “hot” name now at UK is Pitt assistant Barry Rohrssen. The former Manhattan head coach is in his second stint as an assistant for Jamie Dixon at Pitt. He worked for Dixon from 1999-2006, took the Manhattan job, and rejoined the staff this season.
