I can confirm that Sean Woods is no longer the head basketball coach at Southern University. I teased this one on Twitter earlier today, and in yesterday’s Daily Dirt.
Woods had been the head coach at Southern since 2018, where he put together a 64-82 (.438) record. He also spent time as the head coach at Morehead State (2012-17), and Mississippi Valley State (2008-12).
The former Kentucky standout has also been an assistant at Stetson, TCU, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and High Point.
I have also heard that at least two candidates already have interviews scheduled for the position. I’ll run with these names in a bit.
An official release is expected tomorrow morning.
