Swets Named USC Men’s Basketball Director Of Operations

Michael Swets has been named the Director of Operations for the USC men’s basketball program, it was announced by head coach Andy Enfield.

As USC’s Director of Operations, Swets will handle team travel arrangements, work on the schedule, coordinate practices and oversee the basketball managers. He will also lead the community outreach endeavors for the USC men’s basketball program.

Swets served at the Director of Operations for the Towson basketball program the last four seasons, which marked the winningest four-year period in the history of the program. Prior to that, he was the Director of Student-Athlete Development for the Tigers’ basketball program for a season.

Swets joined Towson from Providence where he served as a graduate assistant for two seasons. At Providence he was responsible for the breakdown of game and practice footage for player development and opponent scouting. He also assisted in scheduling for the Friars.

A 2009 graduate of Boston College, Swets was a student manager for the Eagles for two seasons before being named the head manager as a senior. He assisted coach All Skinner and the staff during the games, practices and individual workouts while performing daily administrative duties, helping the program advance to two NCAA Tournaments. He received the Mary Kay Waldron Award in 2009 as the support staff member who best exemplified inspiration, loyalty and unwavering dedication to the Boston College basketball program.

Swets earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College in marketing, information systems and management leadership in 2009, graduating magna cum laude. He also received the Athletic Director’s Award for Academic Achievement. He earned his MBA from Providence in 2011.
