I can confirm that Mark Downey will be named as an assistant at IPFW. Downey spent last season as an assistant at Bowling Green, and has also been the head coach at West Alabama, Charleston (WVa.), Arkansas Tech, and Independence CC. He will replace Ben Betts who became an assistant at Georgia Southern this past spring.
The search to replace Lance Randall at St. Leo (FL) is moving along quickly. Randall was named as the head coach at Lindenwood University (MO) back on May 11th. It sounds like there are at least three in the final group – the names that I’ve heard are: Mark Downey – Former assistant Bowling Green.
